For roofing companies
SEO for roofers in Birmingham and the West Midlands
Search "roofer Knowle" and the firms near the top usually have a page about roofing in Knowle. A footer that says "we also cover Knowle" rarely gets there. That gap, between the towns a roofer works in and the towns their website actually talks about, is one of the most common things we find when we check roofing websites in the West Midlands.
Below: what homeowners search for, the gaps we find most often, and what we build to close them.
What homeowners actually search for
Roofing searches are local and specific. People rarely type "roofing company". They type the job and the place:
- The job: new roof, roof replacement, flat roof, EPDM or GRP flat roof, roof repair, chimney repairs, leadwork, fascias and soffits, guttering.
- The town: not just Birmingham, but Solihull, Sutton Coldfield, Walsall, Wolverhampton, Dudley, Halesowen, West Bromwich and the smaller places in between.
- The question: "how much does a new roof cost", "flat roof or pitched", "do I need planning permission for a roof".
Google tries to show the page that best matches all three. A homepage that lists twelve towns in one line rarely beats a page written about one job in one town.
The gaps we see most often
Every finding we send a firm is checked on their own live website first. These are the patterns that keep coming up on roofing sites in the region:
- A list of towns, but no page for any of them. "We cover Solihull, Knowle, Dorridge and Shirley" in the footer doesn't rank for "roofer Knowle". A page about roofing in Knowle can.
- Pages for the towns, but not for the big jobs. Some firms have built town pages for repairs but have one general page for new roofs, usually their most valuable job.
- The firm's own town missing. A Birmingham firm with pages for five nearby towns and none for Birmingham itself.
- A homepage headline that says nothing useful. The title Google shows is just "Home", the web address, or every service and town crammed into one line.
- Nothing that tells Google or AI tools what the business is. No structured data saying "this is a roofing contractor, here is where it works".
- Details that don't match. A different phone number or business name on Google, on directories and on the website. That costs trust with buyers and with Google.
What we build for roofing companies
Pages for every town and job you want more of
Each month we build new pages, 3 to 16 depending on your plan, each about one job in one place: "flat roof replacement in Sutton Coldfield", "new roofs in Solihull". Every page includes something only your firm could say: a real job you did nearby with your own photos, the price range you actually quote, and a local detail. Pages that just swap the town name don't work and can harm a site, so we don't build them.
Set up for AI search
We add structured information that tells Google, ChatGPT and Perplexity exactly what you do and where, and get your firm listed consistently in the places those tools read. See our guide: how trade firms get recommended by ChatGPT.
Your Google Business Profile kept accurate
Services, areas, photos and posts kept up to date, so your map listing matches your website.
A plain-English report every month
What we built, what moved and what's next. No jargon, and honest about anything that went down.
What we won't do
- Promise first place on Google. Nobody can honestly do that.
- Write fake reviews, or ask friends and family for them. Fake reviews have been illegal in the UK since April 2025.
- Lock you in. After the first 90 days it's month to month, and every page we built stays yours.
Questions roofers ask us
How long does SEO take to work for a roofing company?
New pages usually take a few weeks for Google to find and a couple of months to start bringing in calls. That is why the first term is 90 days. Nobody can honestly promise a ranking or a date.
Do I need a new website?
Usually not. We add town and job pages to the site you already have and set it up for Google and AI search. Your current web designer can stay.
Is this the same as Checkatrade or Rated People?
No. Lead sites charge per lead or per month, often send the same lead to several firms, and stop when you stop paying. The pages we build belong to you and the enquiries come to you alone.
How much does it cost?
Local Start is £495 a month for 3 new pages a month. Starter Visibility is £1,000 a month for 6 to 8 pages plus AI search setup. Authority Engine is £1,900 a month for 12 to 16 pages. All have a 90-day first term, then month to month. See the full pricing.
